      "Status" refers to the current health and activity of the satellite. This column can also contain information about the CASTOR satellite observation.


ACTIVITY STATUS

ACTIVE: The satellite in question is functioning in some capacity, whether entirely or in part, and its attitude is being controlled regularly. Its orbit is currently stable.

INACTIVE: The satellite in question is no longer functioning and its attitude is no longer being controlled. However, its orbit is currently stable.

DECAYING: The orbit of the satellite in question is steadily decaying and the satellite will most likely re-enter the Earth's atmosphere within several years.

DECAYED MM/DD/YY: The satellite in question has re-entered the Earth's atmosphere on the date indicated.

DESTROYED MM/DD/YY: The satellite in question has met with an unfortunate incident in which it has been destroyed on the date indicated.

UNKNOWN: This is mainly reserved for those satellites that cannot be positively correlated and/or have an unknown status at the present time.


CASTOR OBSERVATION STATUS

DUPLICATE OBS OF #: The entry been proven to be a duplicate observation of a satellite already in the catalogue.

Not a Satellite: The entry was later proven not to be a bona-fide satellite.
