CASTOR'S FOUNDER POSES FOR THE CAMERA: On October 17, 2007, Michael A., Earl was interviewed by CKWS TV (Kingston) to talk about his independent project to detect and track 1,957 individual satellites for Sputnik's 50th anniversary. At that time, 1,764 satellites had been detected. CASTOR would detect its 1,957th on November 13th. Image by Jane E. Yaeger.
SETTING UP THE EQUIPMENT: This system might look simple, but it was the first in Canada to detect and track over 2,000 satellites in one year. Image by Jane E. Yaeger.
CASTOR IN ACTION: With Michael A. Earl at the controls, the CASTOR system is manually controlled for the CKWS TV cameras. Image by Jane E. Yaeger.
CASTOR FOR THE CAMERA: As CKWS looks on, Michael A. Earl manually controls the CASTOR system to track hypothetical satellites. Image by Jane E. Yaeger.
THE FOUNDER LOOKS UP AT THE SKY: In a pose strictly for the cameras, Michael A. Earl looks into the sky in a searching gesture. The sky was very bright with very reflective clouds, so he was squinting quite a lot. Image by Jane E. Yaeger.
VENUS SEEN WITH THE CASTOR TELESCOPE: The nearly half phase of the planet Venus was captured through a break in the clouds on the morning of the CKWS interview. Although it was submitted to CKWS, the image was not aired. You have a chance to see it here! Image by Michael A. Earl.

THE CASTOR WIDE ANGLE CAMERA IS POINTED AT A NIGHT SKY OBSERVER: This image is of a night sky observer looking through a telescope with the Aquila Milky Way in the background. I used CASTOR's wide field CCD camera to capture this image at the Mill of Kintail Conservation Area in Almonte, Ontario Canada. I have coined these types of images "Attilla" images because the first one I did featured my friend Attilla in the foreground. In fact, this image features Attilla's 25-inch Obsession telescope! THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION PASSES THROUGH THE CONSTELLATION HYDRA: This image features the ISS as I showed it to the Mill of Kintail Astronomy Course students. I was obtaining images of the ISS as it passed nearly overhead from our location at the Mill of Kintail Conservation Area in Almonte, Ontario Canada. Image by Michael A. Earl.
THE SAGITTARIUS MILKY WAY: I took this image while conducting the September 2007 Mill of Kintail Star Party. This image clearly shows the majesty of the universe as seen with low light pollution. Image by Michael A. Earl.
THE MOON SEEN THROUGH DEWED CAMERA LENS: I knew the camera's lens was dewed over when I took this image, but I decided to see what the effect would be. The image was taken near the tail end of the August 2007 Mill of Kintail Star Party. Image by Michael A. Earl.
STARGAZERS AT THE SEPTEMBER 2007 MILL OF KINTAIL STAR PARTY: At the beginning of the September 2007 Mill of Kintail Star Party, I decided to take several images of the attendees having a god time there. Image by Michael A. Earl.
TELESCOPES AT NIGHT: This is another image taken at the September 2007 Mill of Kintail Star Party. It features the background stars plus some of the telescopes at the site. Image by Michael A. Earl.
